This entryway bench was colored and finished to go with the client’s existing oak coat racks. The wood’s open grain was filled to create a smooth solid finish that would also help resist water penetration from coats, etc. The bench was assembled using Mortise and Tenon joinery. The only metal hardware used included a brass piano hinge as well as the decorative brass appliqués.
